The six areas of Business Consulting are:
Growth & Innovation Strategy — We work with business leaders to customize a program of strategic growth. Understanding their specific challenges and growth objectives, we leverage the GR5 Roadmap to map out a customized portfolio of growth pathways to a defined array of growth vehicles. The end result is the right portfolio and the right actions to achieve their unique growth objectives.
Portfolio Alignment — We work with business leaders to assess and realign their product and service portfolios to their broader strategic goals. Using our knowledge of growth strategy and portfolio management, we are able to objectively test each part of the portfolio and from that know where to reinforce, where to realign, and where to rationalize the portfolio. The end result is two-fold… a stronger, more strategically–aligned portfolio, and a gap analysis highlighting the missing pieces of the portfolio.
Corporate Venturing — We work with business leaders to guide and assist them in Corporate Venturing. We start by helping them understand how this fits with long term growth strategy by allowing them to tap into emerging business models that may be foreign to how they otherwise address a market, but which may in time become the prevailing business model for that market. We then assist them with setting up an investment program for investing in new business ventures whose aims align strategically with their own.
Organic Growth & Expansion Scouting — We scout for organic growth & expansion opportunities for businesses.
Market Scouting — We take on searches for new markets into which businesses can leverage their existing or upcoming technologies and portfolios. Depending on the stretch from their current markets, this can yield for them either a Market Penetration opportunity to stretch their current foundation of value, or a Market Expansion opportunity to create a new foundation of value.
Technology Scouting — We take on searches for new or emerging technologies that businesses can leverage to evolve and expand their current offerings. Depending on the stretch from their current technologies, this can yield for them either a Market Perpetuation opportunity to stretch their current foundation of value, or a Market Escalation opportunity to create a new foundation of value.
Inorganic Growth & Expansion Scouting — We scout for inorganic growth & expansion opportunities for businesses.
Venture Scouting — We take on searches for new ventures that businesses can strategically invest in to hedge their future. This will almost always yield a means of developing and growing new foundations of value for the long run.
Acquisition Scouting — We take on searches for businesses that companies can acquire to gain access to added capacity, new capabilities, expanded market presence, and in some cases new innovation synergies. This can yield a wide array of new Value Capture and Value Creation opportunities.
Capital Introduction — We work with the founders and principals of young companies to help them prepare for and otherwise pursue cash–for–equity investment in their business. This covers the spectrum of Angel, Venture Capital, and Corporate Venturing investors. Using our knowledge of these entities and their deal flow practices, we are able to optimally position these leaders for pitching their business and securing new rounds of investment that give them the runway they need to get to their next growth milestone.
